Making Your Own Gerbil Food

There are many benefits to building your own diet. You ensure that your gerbils are getting a healthy diet. You also reduce waste by not including things your gerbils simply will not eat. You also customize the diet according to your gerbil's needs.

This is no where near as easy as it sounds. It requires a lot of research and trial and error. Just because you want your gerbil to eat what you offer, doesn’t mean that they will.  Sometimes it easier to start with a base and add things to it. If using your own mix, make sure your gerbils have access to a mineral and salt lick.
