Flying Squirrel Waiting List

The 2011 Fall Season for Southern Flying Squirrels has come, there are no pups currently available. We are looking forward to the spring breeding season. Curious what they are like as pets? If you are interested in being added to the waiting list, please read below, and then send me an email answering these questions.

I will be screening all adopters and reserve the right to reject any applicant for any reason.

You must provide proof of an adequate home and supplies. You will need to submit your shopping list to me, which basically entails you taking a photograph of the supplies.

You will be added to my mailing list once you have answered the questionnaire. Once on the mailing list you will recieve updates about current and future pups.

Once the pups are born you will need to place your deposit for your Flying Squirrel ($50).  The deposit is to hold a squirrel in your name, and is non-refundable. The deposit will be applied towards the adoption fee of $250. The full adoption fee must be paid in full before the pups are 6 weeks old. All transactions are completed via paypal.

You can put your name on the waiting list prior to the pups being born by placing the deposit early in the off season. Understand that  pups are only born once or twice a year in the Spring and Fall. The best time to reserve your pups would be in the summer and winter, before the pups are born. If you wait too long before expressing an interest in the pups, you may have to wait till the following season.

I know this seems like a lot of hoops to jump through, but in the end, all I want is to ensure that my squirrels end up in the best homes possible with people who can really appreciate them and can dedicate the time these loving creatures really need.

You may ask, “Why is there a waiting list when you don’t even have pups yet.” The simple answer is this, I do not want to have to rush to find homes for my squirrel’s pups. I would much rather adopt out to someone who as been waiting patiently, than someone who buys one impulsively.
